Gas Tank ID?

Post by Steve Webb » Sun Sep 20, 2020 2:00 pm

I have this tank that I will be selling but need to know what Jeep it is from. Had it for a bit and other than a 3a tank it is not. I need to get it figured out before I evaluate and price it. Thanks for help

Tank is 18 3/4 wide, 24 1/2 long and 6" high nominal. The neck is offset 20 degree to the back and slope is 55 degree if that helps.

Hi,

It looks more like a CJ-5 tank, but the filler angle looks off some. It could be a camera angle though?

Thanks for a start. Camera is very old and cameraman is even older. That is why I put the angles on the spout. It is in superb shape inside.

Yep it is for a CJ5. Pretty cool with cork sending unit still intact.
