Speedo Cable

Hello again everyone, i am needing a bit more help with my 1953 CJ3A , is there a special tool to remove the speedo cable from down below, dont seem to be able to get any tools i have in to remove end of said cable (no room) . jim

Jim,
It should be a round knurled threaded cap that you can unscrew with your fingers. It would not surprise me that the PO used something to tighten it just a bit beyond finger tight. You may be able to get something in there like a small pair of channel locks (off-set jaws).

I would also try a towel wrapped (as best as possible) to increase the diameter of the cap and use your dominate hand. Also try wiggling the cable housing - Sometimes binding can make it worse and wiggling the cable can, in some cases, help.

Channel Locks has been the tool of choice for 60 years.
