"Military JUNIOR" vs "Military STANDARD?"

Post by wc56daveyboy » Thu Aug 30, 2018 4:33 am

Geez. Just when I thought I had this military jr oil filter housing and filter I need to buy figured out, I see on the top of my cj3a oil filter housing " MILITARY STANDARD"

I though all the early CJ's had the same size oil filter element as the MB GPW jeeps?

I need to buy some filters for this "MILITARY STANDARD" oil filter housing.

Will the same oil filter replacement element for the "MILITARY JR" fit the "MILITARY STANDARD"
Housing?

I see a tread stating the NAPA 1100 fits the MILITARY JR. Will the same filter fit this MILITARY STANDARD housing or no?

Thanks!

99% chance you have a Military Standard "Junior" oil filter housing (about 6" filter size). The Military Standard "Senior" would be about a foot+ tall.
See this previous post string for (many) filter number options and some clarity on junior and senior:
