Koenig hard top hardware

Post by Red's GP » Mon Mar 19, 2018 1:37 pm

I tried the search function and came up dry. My 59 CJ5 came with a Koenig 550 hard top. Does anyone have, or have a good line on a list of hardware & assembly/mounting instructions?
I may be a has been,
but at least I once was.

Red,
There's a bit of info from Google that provides links to some information:

Your CJ5 doors should have unique hinges based on the images I've seen. There was also a thread on g503 that quickly digressed but still provides some good information...

Added: The hardware may differ a bit on a CJ5 but my own experience with a hard top is the one that came with my 3B when purchased back in '77. It used nuts/bolts around the tub edge and screws along the windshield frame for the front edge and doors. If not already there, you'll have to drill a lot of holes to mount this top. The one thing that irritated me on mine was the PO just randomly added screws (no rhyme or reason) along the w/s frame making a butcher job of it. It took a lot of careful work to restore the frame back to what it was supposed to be. So, if drilling, measure a lot and go slow so you don't bugger up your body.
