Help identify rims - could be CJ or other post-war jeep

Post by cjpryor » Sat Sep 16, 2023 9:26 am

Does anybody know why these rims have rectangular slots in them? These came off my GPW but are obviously not correct WWII rims. They look like they could be CJ rims.

Thanks

Note the little holes between two of the lug holes, like an M38, but also note the flat part of the dome around the rim. That would be from a truck. I have seen the slotted ones but do not know what they came off of. In any case they are not military.

I'm guessing the rectangular slots are for a hub cap? Chrome and shiny?
Never seen one before. Might be rare and valuable to the right person.

Thanks for the comments so far. I wasn’t even sure that these are Jeep rims.

Looked at possible scout or early bronco but their hubcaps don't need slots. Not a jeepster or a dj either. Be interesting if you ever dismount the tire to see who made them and if there is a date code inside.

Seems likely a Willys Aero rim
