Looking for a good quality CJ2A Fuel Tank - need recommendations
Guys,
Looking for a good quality CJ2A Fuel Tank. I finally need to replace mine in my 48 CJ2A after 36 years since it was lined with epoxy!
Wondering if the OMIX-ADA tanks are any good, or can you recommend a good one. Just don't want to put crap in there, but don't need to break the bank either.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Brent

If there are any good ones, they will be found either here or at Walck’s4WD.com Good stuff is getting harder to find, but Ron and Carl endeavor to stock the best available.

I recently got one from Walcks, it was painted black and had markings similar to the originals.
Walcks catalog was very upfront on what I was getting, several other suppliers left a lot to chance.
I’m very happy with it.

Just finished installing one from Walcks and would order another one from them if I needed one. The only thing I would recommend on Walcks or any other supplier would be to removed the paint from the fuel line fitting before installing the fuel line.

Have to ask why anyone would buy anything from another vendor when they are readily available from the guy who is paying for you to use this site; Ron Fitzpatrick. He has Cj fuel tanks, they will be the best quality on the market, and is by far, the nicest and easiest to deal with.

Yes, loyalty is good.
So is economy (thrifty and efficient use of resources).
And common sense.
Geography matters too.
The cost to ship large items from coast-to-coast is HUGE.
When I find the same item at the same price (or less) and shipped cheaper because it's closer --- that's what I do.
Sorry --- I'm not interested in giving a shipper (FedEx, UPS, USPS) more money out of loyalty to one parts vendor.
Can't afford it.
Worse --- it doesn't make any sense.

One gas tank was shipped from Pennsylvania to New Hampshire.
Another was shipped from Pennsylvania to North Carolina.
Compare either shipped from Oregon instead.
I'm just spit-balling, but I bet the shipping cost delta was HUGE.
