Nut and bolt kit

Post by DEH » Fri Sep 04, 2020 5:13 am

In restoring our 1948 CJ-2A I was wondering if anyone is aware of a nut and bolt kit that is available. When disassembling the vehicle we realized it would be much simpler to have a kit that would replace the originals that have twisted off, rusted out etc. when we reassemble the unit.
Thanks very much.

DEH,
There is a member on the CJ2A Forum that made these in the past. His last post indicated he may make some more in the future. You could save this thread to come back to periodically to stay on top.

OR, you can do like he did (and what I did) with a Parts Manual (PM) and look up the fasteners needed and go to the hardware store. I made a spreadsheet so I could label each bag with what its contents went to. Made assembly real easy.

The 2A Forum also has an interactive Parts List, in case you don't have a copy of the PM.

Thanks very much! You all are almost making this too easy (it's already really fun!)
