Hi guys
I have started restoring a Willys/ bantam trailer and found the acm number which is 39090 there’s no W or B stamped on it . Next is the number on the draw bar is M 14897
Upper shock mount is riveted
Shock mount is threaded not cotter pin
Axle is welded in the centre
Mudguard bolts have the letter A on them
The lights have the L shape brackets , but could have been put on later .
Hopefully I can get a DOD on the trailer
Identify what trailer I have . Willys/ bantam

Re: Identify what trailer I have . Willys/ bantam
Hi,
I just read that the Trailer "guru" Chuck is not longer with us.
I do not call myself a trailer wizzard but i have a small database with trailers and numbers.
Approx 40 in the Bantam section, because threaded schockmounts are typical Bantam.
Your chassis (ACM) number 39090 is a bit higher than one of my entries in the database
I have 36280 as an ACM eintry. Serial number of that trailer is 14755.
So your draw-bar stamping 14897 would be the serial number on the Nomenclature plate.
The Date of delivery on a bantam is month-day-year.
That of the 36280 is 03-19-43. USA number on that is U.S.A. 0262088
Think you can make a calculation of your USA muber by increasing it with the difference in serial numbers.
D.o.D on your trailer is between serial 14755 = 03-19-43 and serial 15636 = 03-29-43
Hope it helps
