For Sale 1943 Bantam T3 (((SOLD)))

Post by Rustman » Mon Jun 13, 2022 5:03 pm

For sale. $1000 obo is this 1943 Bantam T3. She’s a survivor, albeit on life support. The bad is the floor is about gone along with the bottom edge of the sides, the rear was cut for a tailgate and the frame needs a little work.
The good is all the brake stuff is there (well we didn’t look inside the hubs), the drawbar casting, quadrant, landing leg and safety chains are all there and intact. You get two combat rims, four original Stimsonite reflectors and with effort might be able to uncover much of the original markings. The USA number is nearly visible along with what looks to be shipping data on the right front quarter and more stenciling on the left side near the top.
This would be great to restore either with a lot of bodywork, but little else needed or a reproduction tub and only a little work on the frame.
Pick up in Ranson, WV. Close to Harper’s Ferry and not far from I-81 or I-70.

Emphasis on the OBO aspect. I rather this go to a good home for less money than to see it parted out when there's still a data tag and legible markings on it. Even if she needs a whole new tub. There's so much here to make into a nice trailer.

Hello Matt,

That is a great looking trailer with a plethora of original markings !!

I wonder if it was ever in Europe with the weight stenciling on the side of the trailer.

It needs to be saved and would make someone a great project.
Get a new floor pan and repair the sides.

Best Regards,
Ray

Ray I agree. I found the shipping data especially interesting. I have a buyer from North Carolina it seems. He wants to restore it to go with his 42 Jeep so that'll be nice.

That is great Matt, and not too far away either !
I looked at some your other pictures, does the trailer have a name over the wheel well , like a jeep would ?

It can be restored !!

Best Regards,
Ray

Ray,

It certainly has something stenciled over one of the wheels. I haven't tried to make it out yet. Was going to leave that to the new owner rather than risk any damage obscuring it further.
