I found this MBT online and was trying to find info on the year. It’s not mine I don’t have the ability to get better pictures this is the best I could muster out of the seller.
It has no nomenclature it’s titled as a 1948. The titled VIN does not match the frame number and has the two piece axle. It has the proper WW2 tub.

Re: MBT frame serial number
There are only two legitimate manufacturer identification number on a WWII traler. One on the data plate and one on the spring hanger amounting gusset under the left front hanger called the ACM number (hanger has to come off to see it) the A number casting number is a part number not an ID number. The number on the title is a DMV/LE assigned number.

Re: MBT frame serial number
Thank you, those pictures offer a much better reference as to where the SN is located. I’m pretty knowledgeable on the Jeeps but the trailers I know nothing about.Bill H. wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 7:18 amThere are only two legitimate manufacturer identification number on a WWII traler. Re: MBT frame serial number
That is an ACM (American Central Manufacturing) number not a serial number. The only place there is a serial number found is on the data plate.

Re: MBT frame serial number
The ACM number can help narrow down the date of manufacture.

Re: MBT frame serial number
Casting in the middle of the axle is an August or early September 1942 Willys trailer.
(axle could be swapped to the trailer)
