Re: Is this Military?
Looks like maybe something from Ma Bell. Or at least originally started out as from Ma Bell.

Re: Is this Military?
It does not look it to me. The fenders look like post war Dodge pickup fenders. The pre-war were longer and more tear drop shaped I believe.

Re: Is this Military?
I recall that Dodge made fire pump trailers during WW II for state side use, and this could be the trailer remains of one of those.

Trailer behind Jeep looks like a match. Stand alone trailer, close but not the same.

Re: Is this Military?
I have noticed in the two pictures the spring hangers are set up different. Could they have made changes during production?

Re: Is this Military?
The trailer that started this thread has make it home to Texas this week. I put some pictures up here: https://imageevent.com/primal4x4/vehicl ... iretrailer
One of the more interesting things on this trailer is that it has two hub caps on each rim. A brass "Chrysler" embossed cap covers a steel "Plymouth" embossed hub cap. No data plate found but a cool caution plate.

That is way cool. Don't know if you can pull off a complete resto for it but good hunting if you do. Looks like the generator/pump has USCG stenciled on the front in the parade picture.

Re: Is this Military?
I would be very much interested in close up photographs or any information on the landing/stabilizing legs in the corners. They look very similar to the feet on the M2 Chemical trailer. I'm looking for a pair but don't even know where to begin.
Obviously these are onto a large diameter threaded rod. But you can see the resemblance of the foot.

Re: Is this Military?
Matt, I hope you find what you are looking for but if not check out the leveling legs that are used on scaffolding. May be a way to use them for your trailer.

Re: Is this Military?
Andy, I was thinking the same thing. It will take years to gather the original equipment to go on the trailer. Making a tear drop camping trailer for behind a WW2 Dodge may be its best use in the mean time.
Matt, I will get pics and measurements this weekend.
