Quick ID on this trailer?

Post by donk_316 » Sat Aug 08, 2020 5:54 pm

Going to buy this trailer just based off the deal I’m making on it. Just curious what I’m looking at as the people selling it are older and selling for a friend

That appears to be a Bantam T-3C. Civilian version of the T-3.

Wished all the images were visible. Visit the website here:

More info on it after you purchase!

I think you’re correct. Looks that way to me too.

This should be a ‘47-48?

My thinking too. Would be nice if it still had a serial number plate under that plywood.

The wheels look odd.

I go pick it up this week. I’ll document the whole thing. It will end up behind my GPW and dressed up to look like it’s supposed to be there. Only hardcores will know the difference.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the axle was changed at one point

donk,
the black sections between the images aren't missing images but just the orientation of your camera while taking the picture?

Big guess, but the wheels may be later 15"

There are examples of both solid and seamed axles. Not sure as parts were interchangeable.

I couldn't trust my bearings when I picked mine up - so I loaded it up on a flatbed.

Hopefully all goes well! Looking forward to more on this!

I’m just going to throw it in the back of my truck.
The landing arm still looks to be there?

Yeah the black is just because the pictures are screen shots.

That flat sheet rear panel (support) as opposed to metal tubes appeared as early as 1946 so it may be earlier than the 47-48 date estimate.

Chuck,
Hard to tell from the images so far - it appears the upper edge has been unrolled and the tube removed (it seems to be sticking up higher than the back edges of the side panels) I may be wrong. Looking forward to seeing more images of this trailer. Hopefully, the Serial Data Plate is still attached.

I feel like this trailer has had some "things" done to it. All reparable, I think.

Data plate is there. Just loaded it. Starts with 213... seems extremely solid for 74 years old.
Couple quick teasers. Better ones coming
