parking brake cable

Chuck gave you a great description of how to do this. I did it myself not too long ago. My cable was completely seized and no amount of penetrating oil would help. Found a NOS cable for very inexpensive money from a dealer and it went in perfectly. You do know that the brake handle has a knob that can turn and make a tension adjustment, perhaps yours is backed out too far.

M-416 has the Cable tension knob on the handle.
Same Cable as MBT/M-100 tho.

Joel... I see you took down your last post but here is my response to it anyway.....my focus is the G-529 series and there is enough to sort out with that model. I'll leave the M-100 onward models to others. However I do think my knowledge of the G-529s has earned me something of an "expert-in-learning" classification, wouldn't you agree?

Well, that is my mistake, for some reason I assume his trailer was an M416.
The photo and the link I provided was for M416 parts, not MBT or M100. Sorry.

Your efforts are not wasted, am sure that more than a few on here were not familiar with the adjustable M-416 Parking Brake Handle prior to your post. The M-416 does share, Cable, Brake Shoes, backing plates, and inner mechanism with MBT/M-100, etc.
