Bead blast it and report what markings, if any are on it. As is, it looks to be an original thin lunette.

Well since it is attached to a pretty bad m416 price isnt cheap. I really dont need another trailer then another 200 for a repo lunette if I take this one off to use the trailer.

repos look good I cant tell the diff between the repo and maybe a NOS one, not my pics, from ebay.

Interesting, first time I’ve seen a picture of the reproduction. It looks like the fillet radius on the reproduction is a little sharper than the original at the shaft/ring interface.

OK, This was still out there for sale, good 3 months now, and since I had a half empty trailer it came home.

Bubba got to it, fake floor over rusty floor. Elusive rear gate.

Lunette eye is marked A6370 Matches 1943 parts list. WO4B Don't see this number in the book.

Will probably replace this Lunette with a later one and use her for firewood hauling.

That is the WWII Lunette.
NOTE the 1" flat ground portion on the neck and the ball impression where the hardness test was performed.
