Do the m416 trailers have serial numbers stamped on them anywhere other than the data plate?

Ern.... I haven't found any. If your trailer still has its US Army serial number painted on the panels, I may be able to tell who made it but it's a longshot....

Thanks Ken for The info. The guy I purchased it from told me that it's a 1963 vintage built by the Johnson Furnace Co but he lost the data plate. Outside is just surface rust with no visible markings on it.

Hello again Ern,
I have a few Johnson Furnace-built M416 trailers but that contract....which was DA20-113-AMC-04470-(T).... looks as if it ran from mid-1965 through to March 1966. Unfortunately none of the ones I have on my list have US Army registration numbers.... the owners who sent the information to me could not find their markings either. Markings were usually obliterated from trailers when they went to the DRMO.

I wish I could help you more but I don't have enough information. If anyone else has a Johnson Furnace-built trailer with such details, I'd love to hear from you....and so would Ern !
