The Mitsubishi 1/4 Tons used Liggett Springs, the liggetts came out in the mid 50's on CJ's and M-38A1's. Liggetts are identified by the grooves in the leaves.

Chuck’s trailer is a Mitsubishi. When I restored it I found no Kanji on it at all although I really wasn’t looking too hard. We were under the impression it was an American G529 trailer. Lots of Japanese symbols and the Mitsubishi tri-pedal symbol on the springs. They are built quite well but are obviously lacking key identifiers like the ACM number. IIRC it does have a number stamped on the front end of the frame on the left side below the tub??? Chuck could tell us for sure. I’ve got pictures of it somewhere on my computer. Maybe I’ll look for them today.

Been tempted. Delivery is the issue. Having two G-529 type 1/4 Ton Trailers is not all that bad, but my trailer space is constipated with rare LIONEL Trains that are looking for honest collectors.

Joel.....if you do score a second G529, why not fit one with a Tandem set up to tow the second one behind it? That's a pretty cool parade look that not many guys take advantage of...

Jeepdraw has the plans as does AAW, then you just need a pintle hitch, a spare tarp hook to bolt to the socket box and a Trailer socket. A wiring harness is next and then you have to wire that harness into the BO switch which is a real PITA!

Well it’s been a while. The trailer has been completed since last May and I finally got around to posting the pictures of the finished product. The JDF did a nice job copying ouy trailers (and they didn’t miniaturize it)!

Oh BTW I forgot, after the paint job a number was revealed on the tub frame right front. Another mystery. It doesn’t jive with the actual serial number.
