After near a year time passed by here are some updates. The most work is done.
All parts incl. A-frame, axle, springs and combat wheels are ready blasted, welded, sanded, primed and painted.
The rims are fitted with new Firestone tires.
The bottom of the tube is back in, I had to weld up more than 50 holes in the tub.
And more than 20 holes in the frame and fender.
Now the big parts tube, frame and fenders are already blasted and primed.
Tomorrow I will get this parts back home from the sandblaster and will weld back the frame to the body with a friend.

The tube is back on the frame, every nut and bolt is blasted, primed and painted.

Good to see you and this subject back at the top. Specially because I have a TEC trailer myself with the 229th ordnance nomenclature.
How did you press the frame to the body? Was it easy to make the lots of welds as seen on the Jeepdraw website? Do you have pictures as well of that particular proces?

We put the body upsidown on the floor and fixed the frame at the right position with three strong rachet tension belts.
The body was primed with a weldable primer. The most of the welding points was still visible, for the others
I used references from two other original unrestored trailers and the welding chart, so the welding job was not that hard.

Thanks for the update. I let it primer at the blast shop with a two component primer... so I guess I have to remove/scrap the paint away for each weld

What is the best way / sequence to attach the axle and leaf springs to the chassis? I have the axle and break drums bolted together and now I wonder about the sequence to attach the whole package (with or without leaf springs) to the chassis.
Should I already attach the axle to the leaf springs before attaching all to the chassis? or should I first attach the leaf springs to the chassis and then later attach the axle to the leaf springs? The trailer is already in normal position and I have no way to turn it up side down if needed.
I have started by attaching the leaf spring shackles to the chassis.

With the tub assembly on safety stands, you and your helper can attach the tires/rims to the brake drums and then roll all that into position under the trailer. I would attach the FRONT spring hangers first and then the rear for each axle. Some issues with getting the rear shackles attached is normal I think. It's been awhile since I did this task.

I did not make that clear enough I don't think....
Attach springs to axle then tires/rims to brake drums. The roll that under the tub and bolt the front spring hangers and springs together. Then with your assistant, use a floor jack or two to raise up the axel/springs to attach them to the shackle mounts.
