Post by Steve Webb » Mon Sep 13, 2021 8:38 am

Someone have a modern tube number for the tubes. I have taken tires off and have yokohama and pirelli tube. Neither have a readable stock number. Thanks Mistake trailer K38

Well dead in the water almost literally. Man at my mechanic ordered tubes and they are straight stem for spoked wheels so one went flat in 25 miles. Wide search as best as I can get and appears only ones are from Coker. They are backordered and somewhere on this vast planet they are in a shipping container with expected arrival date of December 8th.

Have you tried a motorcycle shop, these are not like any automobile tire out there anymore. Just a thought.

I made a few calls and have one guy very into motorcycles who said he had never seen a set up like that. Fortunately I don't need it right now so will wait and get to other things.

Next possibility might be Model T tubes (size wise) from memory.

How long have you had them on the trailer and is the valve offset? I have found Coker carries the ones with the nuts and offset but are somewhere on this planet in a container last estimate was Dec. 8 delivery to Coker. I would certainly buy 2 of them if you aren't having issues.

Tube stem has to be offset and that was problem with first ones my mechanic ordered and the guy who ordered them was out so installer had no way to check. It is not much of an offset but enough I had a flat after about 25 miles. I will use it on the road but this price is not a deal breaker so getting 2 and see what happens. I have tires for road work not concerned about the military look.

Well for any future interest the tubes appear to be made for the Ford 8n tractor which a lot of them are for sale. The stem is interesting as the TR13 stem is designed for .445/631 diameter valve holes which is what the K38 has but can also with a bushing or nut be used in a .618/633 rim hole. The TR15 stem is for a .618/633 hole. I will check a little bit more before ordering but am a lot more hopeful that this may not be as big a problem as it first appeared to be.

Well fingers crossed but I had the tubes installed from the link given by the person who has disappeared it seems? Did drill out holes in rim for the TR 15 size valve stem but the tire guy and I both feel it will work. Have not mounted or road tested yet but will after Thanksgiving since it is behind my civvy trailer and we are taking it camping this Friday.

Well have held air and now have them on the trailer so hopefully can get some road miles on them today. 25 lbs pressure and tires have max rating of 36 lbs. Trailer is empty so what do you think is that o.k. or maybe 30 lbs?
