M416 wheel bearings

Post by henfield » Sun Jul 21, 2019 6:32 am

I hate taking stuff apart then waiting for parts but on a 1966 Stevens M416, what size are the wheel bearings.?
I've seen it lists as Tinken size 34 and 45...
Thanks

The above post says it all

A Timkin Bearing kit #45 includes both a Cup and Bearing. They will be the same as BCA # LM501310 Cup and LM501349 Bearing

On a related note, about the two nuts on each wheel.

First nut closest to the wheel bearing m assume tighten, then turn until wheel moves freely. Is there a torque rating for the outer nut?

Henfield... why don't you do the job the easy way and download the TM for the trailer? You can download it for free by going to http://www.g838.org/ and click the link near the top of the page. Scroll down to TM9-2330-251-14 & P and right-click to save to your computer. There's everything you need to know in the manual.....

I'd pull the bearings and clean and inspect first....I did bearings on my 416 and two 762's and the bearing were fine...just needed to repack and replace the seals.....
