Why it is important to securely mount the front differential

Post by Radar4xfour » Thu Sep 29, 2022 4:53 pm

Hello all,

I'm starting to untangle / straighten out a new to me M422. I knew the front driveshaft tube needed to be replaced. The assumption was someone land the machine on a rock or used a floor jack in the incorrect spot. After removing the transfercase case and the tube pieces, I found the front differential was loose and most likely caused the demise of the driveshaft tube. Please note the blue RTV and black RTV. I can tell you neither is the proper color for this repair.
