Spark Plug Installation Tip

Post by Radar4xfour » Mon Jun 20, 2022 6:09 am

Hello all,
Are you curious where the 4 copper gaskets in the engine rebuild gasket set live on your Mighty Mite engine? I was until sage master Mighty Mite person MSPeters pointed out they are for the spark plugs. Ditch the crush gasket that come on the plugs, install the copper gaskets and enjoy better plug to head sealing. Plugs in the picture are Autolite 2243 on the left and Autolite 2447 on the right. Both have been installed on my Mighty Mite engine. The engine has less than 3K miles on a rebuild, vehicle is operated at 900 ft. above sea level.

Regards,

Radar

MSPeters helped me with the same question a couple of months ago!! I had the same four copper gaskets left over along with a rubber washer that ended up going on the front of the crankshaft to seal the front and woodruff key slot. Very helpful!!
