Spark Plugs for a Mighty Mite

Post by BJBoehm » Tue Jun 07, 2022 1:57 pm

This will probably start quite a flurry of opinions so lets go. I know that the correct plug for the MM is the Autolite 2245 gapped at 0.030. Is this the correct plug for the M151 Mutt as well? It seems that finding these correct plugs is getting next to impossible. Are all of the following recommended plugs the correct heat range? And which would you recommend. Do you use the adapter kits ( which one or from whom?) or replace the wires. I would much rather keep the MM as correct as possible and keep the waterproof wires
Autolite 2245 replacement spark plugs

• AC Delco WR46
• Blue Crown SR6F15
• Champion 517
• Champion ORD-2
• Champion XMJ17
• Champion stk 517
• General Motors 5612396
• Motorcraft AR7S

I bought a set of Champion XMJ20 for my Mite when I tried to get it running.

Hi, from my research the Champion plug XJM 20 is correct and will work in the mite , a plus is you can order then thru O Riley’s . They are the correct configuration, so no adapters etc. good luck!

From my research they were correct also. When I said that I tried to get it running actually I did but the smoke never slowed down or quit even after 30 minutes of running. Found the rings were collapsed and the cylinders junk. The motor had been overheated and the rings had no tension.

Thanks for all of your responses. I ordered a set of Champion XJM-20's and will give them a try.
