Hello, anyone have a good idea for removing a stuck fuel tank drain plug.
Mine is frozen. Tried heating it up with a propane torch.
Stripped down to a nub with vise grips, thinking of welding a nut on to what's left and then trying again.
Thanks in advance.

Several options I have used for the same situation:
- CRC Freeze-Off Super Penetrant is an amazing product that might get the job done. For best results be sure to read the directions on how to use it.
- Grind the plug head smooth, center punch and drill it out and use your favorite screw extractor with the Freeze-Off
- Drill and retap to the same size or next size larger
Good luck, let us know what worked!

Re: Removing fuel tank drain plug
Welding a nut on it didn't work twice! Did what you suggested. Cut it off, punched it, drilled it, crushed it, and removed it.
Had to upsize it to a 3/8 NPT plug!
Thanks again!

One little hint on the reassembly would be to add a small amount of ant seize to the threads of the plug. It has helped me in the past.
Great to see you got the plug out!!

Re: Removing fuel tank drain plug
I found a brass allen head drain plug to be a hair shorter and slightly more tamper proof.
Not really sure if the old hose was original or not, but it collapsed were it bends over the tail light.
I found a 45 degree, 8"x 8" fuel neck filler hose. Gates #24712 or Napa #1046
And thanks for the reminder about anti seize on the threads!
