smoke after high speed

Post by chrisinfl » Mon Aug 02, 2021 3:17 am

ok my mite smokes only when i throw it into 4 gear then once i stop it begins to smoke , new motor plated barrels new pistons n rings ect
but i did not put the vacuum line on the top of the fuel pump or the one to the carb / what can this do ? heads filling up with oil ?? cant see
how vacum can make it smoke in my mind other than that seems ok

What color smoke? What does the smoke smell like? Any oil consumption? What coating on the cylinders? Are the rings compatible with the coating? What is your idling vacuum? What is your elevation? How long does it smoke after coming down from speed?

Need more info!! How many miles has the engine been driven since rebuild? It is normal for some ring bypass till they seat in. Were the valve stem seals replaced or properly installed? Did you down shift for a long time on a decell? All these can be a cause!

I have one more idea as to your smoke issue. If the seal in the fuel pump went bad you could suck up oil through the fording system. To check it you can remove the vent tube on the top of the fuel pump and check it for excess oil.
