Body attaching parts

Post by Zottelbock69 » Mon Jul 20, 2020 9:33 am

Hi to all.

The next part of the restoration of my M422A1 has started. I have finished the work around the frame, the motor, the gearboxes and the axes. The tub is about to be put on, but I don't know which rubber parts, anti squeak parts and "nonmetallic washers" I need and where they are to be installed. When I disassembled everything, there was nothing between the frame and the tub, so I have no idea where to place the body attaching parts.

It would be fine, if one can show me pictures where to place the various body attaching parts.

Thanks for your help in advance and best regards, Guido

Up at the top of this forum there are downloadable TMs but I believe this will get you the correct answer:

Go down to TM 9-2320-225-35 page 27.

Hi Bill,

I found this page, but there is nothing written about the thickness of the 2 different "anti-squeaks". I believe the smaller ones on the spacers have a thickness of 1/16", but what is the correct thickness of the rest?

And what is meant with "washer nonmetallic abs" (page 207 item 2970 & 2973 in the spare parts book SL-4-00882)?

My tank had 4 anti-squeak with a thickness of 1/8". Is there anything between the tank and the mounting straps or is it metal on metal?

Thanks for your help in advance and best regards, Guido
