New Mite owner, with questions

Post by ccdoran » Mon Apr 09, 2018 7:36 am

Hi guys,

I have pretty much secured a deal for two Mites. But my "expertise" lies in the MB/GPWs. So I have some annoying newbie questions.

Did the Mites have bodies that were linked to their frame and or motor, like matching numbers on the GPW?

Are there any good books on Mites that are "required reading"? (Other than the TM's, of course) Are there Mite-specific websites, like a G or jeep draw but for the 422?

I'll try to post pics when my daughter naps today.
Thanks in advance!

Chris,

Were you able to seal the deal with your 2 Mighty Mite purchase deal?

From my experience the best resource outside the TM manuals is this section of the G503 site and also the site M422A1 that is maintained by member Rob Walsh.

The frame SN should match your dash data plate SN. Using the search function will help you locate the SN locations if you are not already familiar with where they are.

Pictures would be great to see. I'm a firm believer that it helps motive people with their stalled out projects and builds interest in the Mighty Mite historic military vehicle.

Thanks for the post,

Radar

Hi Radar,

Thanks for the reply! I have sent a deposit for the Mites, and I plan on picking them up before heading to the MVPA Convention in Louisville. The seller has marked the Mites as "sold" and has informed me that he is NOT a Nigerian prince and would not abscond with my deposit.

I will definitely check out the TMs; and thanks SO much for the lead on Rob's website!

I'll do my research and find the locations of the serial #s so I'll know where to look. And I'll try to post pics in a few days. Plus I am awaiting a few more from the seller.

Thanks again,
Chris
