Best fuel to use

Post by michaelg » Thu Sep 14, 2023 4:56 pm

Finally running and actually titled with historic plates here in the Peoples Republic of Maryland. As an aside, when I went to the DMV, I was told that MD does not give titles to military vehicles. Waited a week and went to another DMV office in a rural area where local farmers are always getting tags for strange farm implements. This time no problem except for having to wait around as the first person I saw told me it was reported as stolen. Was sent to another window (uncomfortably close to the state trooper position) where all was completed in 10 min.
The question (finally, I know) is that I have easy access to several fuels. The typical ethanol treated gas, a 93 octane ethanol free gas and aviation 100 octane low lead fuel. Would like to hear what folks think will be the best to use in the Mite.
Thanks

Non-ethanol will cost more up front but maintenance will be less expensive.

I've been using regular gas from the pump for 30 plus years with no issues. 87 octane I believe.

The one critical factor here is the level of periodic maintenance with proper tuning, coupled with the frequency of use. Jeeps that are driven on a regular basis and serviced on a regular basis as opposed to garage queens that sit idle for weeks or months are less likely to develop issues with current fuel formulas.
