M422 Front hub assembly

Post by BJBoehm » Tue May 30, 2023 5:29 am

On the inner boot steering knuckle sleeve assembly there is a cast-in protrusion on the aluminum portion of the boot with a hole in it and the drawing (figure 79) says there is as what looks like a hair pin wire spring. Where does this attach to and what is its purpose? Obviously it is not present on either front wheel hub assembly of my Mite.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Bruce,
As you noted, the hole is for a spring clip, a spring works much better.
Good luck with your maintenance!

Radar, Thank you so much for the photos. I am clear, my boots are not oriented correctly so will put that project on the list.
