Basket case m422 purchase Parts needed

Post by Rusty Stud » Tue Mar 07, 2023 7:25 pm

I recently purchased an all apart short wheelbase M422, When I say this I am meaning frame with nothing attached. The trans and differentials fortunately are together. It did come with a lot of new parts. I have spent a lot of time staring at my pile of parts trying to inventory what is missing from my "everything is there" purchase. I need to find the following: Pistons Jugs and rings, Seat springs and upholstery: Short wheelbase canvas: Lastly for now I need to find what I would describe as inner rear wheel hub yokes. I am needing both sides including the bolt that holds it together. Each side would also need two of the U bolts that mate the U-joints of the rear axels to the missing yokes. Any help is appreciated--- including try---

DL Bensinger stocks a retrofit yoke for the rear hubs. I have used on a repowered rig with good results

I recommend you use the earlier rigid spacer and shims between the hub bearings. Takes more time to set-up, but the yoke is solidly torqued to the rear wheel flange won’t be ‘floating’ on the splines.

Tale a close look at the chrome plated cylinder jugs for pits and and signals of peeling.
Many are opting to replate the jugs in Nickel-Silicon.
