M-151A1 Body

Post by Star Electric Ordnance » Thu Feb 27, 2020 2:01 pm

My M-151 was in a collision during the MVPA's TMC'19 Convoy, last August. The convoy was travelling from York, PA to San Francisco, CA. over a 36 day period. An M-151A2 w/trailer ran into the back of my trailer at a pretty good clip. This collision pushed me into the M-100 trailer hooked to an MB which in turn struck the back of a Willy's Station Wagon. My trailer lunnette push my pintle hook down 90 degrees until it was pointed at the ground. The back of the trailer was pushed in and the floor rippled. The M-100 trailer took out my grille, tore the radiator off the bottom carriage bolts and was shoved against the fan. In three days, I had a replacement grille, radiator and fan due to the support of several MVPA members. I was able to drive another 3000 miles to complete the convoy.

That being said, the rear of the MUTT is tilted up from the collision. The suspension was unharmed. The insurance company has totaled it and I have bought it back with a salvage title. I am looking for an M-151A1 body to upgrade to a MUTT with turn signals. My intent is to transfer the power train, suspension and other parts to an M-151A1 body. All my parts were NOS four years ago when I rebuilt my MUTT, to include a complete engine rebuild.

So I am in need of a body from a parts vehicle or a vehicle that has not run in years and may not work at all. I can stand some body work needing to be done, but not one that is a total disaster. You can send me an e-mail with what you have, with pictures, but I will be interested in what the bottom looks like. I do not want to spend a lot of money with Guy Loomis to see if everything he has will be needed for this restoration. Thanks, Kevin.
