the threads on the pulley end of me cj3 crankshaft is in dire need of a die to make it usable for the crank nut. It size in 1 inch and a 16 thread count any one have one to loan or rent for this one time fix?????? please let me know via email or pm if none to loan any idea where to buy one?// old arkie

How about a thread file, they are like 12 bucks on the auction site, mcmaster carr has them, probably harbor freight.

Don't know exactly what kind of thread damage you have but if just a few dings, you might look for a "thread file".
They are about 10 inches long. 3/8 square and have teeth on them the same pitch as threads.
One file for course pitch and one file for fine pitch threads.
8 different thread pitches per file. one on each flat on each end of the file.
Great for fixing small dings.
