801st Engineer aviation battalion (Korea)
Hi all.
Hoping someone here might be able to help
First, my dad was in the 801st engineering aviation battalion during the early part of the Korean War (1950-52?) sometime, having assignment to Molesworth England somewhere
I’ve been marking for years on my restored jeeps and trucks with his unit designations to the best of my ability with little known info I have.
Does anyone out there have any collections of photographs from that era showing proper vehicle markings?
I’m also looking for a Korean era uniform shoulder patch to sew onto my class A jacket for use when in parades and such with one of the vehicles.
I’ve seen one photo of the WW2 unit shoulder patch. Was it the same patch during the Korean War timeframe or was it diffferent?
So anyone that can help with pictures or patches it would be very much appreciated!

Sorry no jeep photo or shoulder patch, but these 4 photos taken in the 1950’s in Molesworth are actually available on eBay and could be of some interest to you.wc56daveyboy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 13, 2021 4:30 amHi all.

There is a photo of the shoulder patch :
You should buy the original to get a more detailed picture.
That is most likely that patch, not the later one with KOREA on top of the SCARWAF logo

Look for “SCARWAF patch” on eBay. There are many for sale.wc56daveyboy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 3:56 amAnyone a military patch collector and have that patch for sale?
Not the first one with KOREA on top because that patch was issued at the end of the Korean war.

Found one on eBay like your photo
It’s not 801st specific though
Can you tell me what SCARWAF stands for?
