Camp Plymouth SPRING 2023 MV Show & Swap Meet April 19 through 22, 20232022

Post by John Neuenburg » Tue Jan 10, 2023 3:58 pm

The big SPRING Camp Plymouth will descend on sleepy little Plymouth April 19 through Saturday the 22nd. As usual, Sunday is a pull out day, not a good show day. All event details are on the MVCC forum www.MVCCNews.net on the Events tab. Also there is info on the MVCC forum here on the G. That is where chatting might happen. Here is a link to that page:

If you can bring a military Dodge, WW2 jeep, or military motorcycle, scooter, or bicycle, Friday will be your "day in the sun."

We are one week out from the official start day of Camp Plymouth. When you go to www.MVCCNews.net to see all the info on the event page, you will note on the Daily Briefing that the Early Bird Potluck Dinner is back on the schedule as a shared-food event on Tuesday evening. Location will be on the patio behind the 49er Village cafe and clubhouse. Rain location is likely in the clubhouse. The women's social is also back to a shared finger food (or whatever) theme. Check out the Daily Briefing, lots on the schedule!

If you have not booked a site at the 49er and have a RV, travel trailer, pop up trailer, or pickup camper, there are sites available. Our group discount there is not available anymore - we always give unreserved sites back to the 49er in March. So you have to go through the 49er Village reservation system. Prices are their normal prices, but you might say you are "with the MVCC" and ask if they will give the event discounted rate. No promises but they might, especially with the event so close. In any case the 49er is cheaper than a hotel! Do a search online for their web page. You can see available sites by location on their campground map. Their direct phone number is 209-245-6981. It might roll over to their corporate reservation representative. If so, I'd try it later and hope a Plymouth rep picks up, if you want to try negotiating.

Note on the MVCC website we have a 20% discount on RV and travel trailer rentals. Advantage Caravans in Sacramento will deliver, set up, and pick up a trailer to your site number for a reasonable fee. That's what we are doing. This is a good option for those who don't or won't tent or truck camp. Unfortunately the 49er does not allow tent camping at their place.

I believe there are still sites available at our tent campground at the adjacent fairgrounds. Dry camping, bring your own shade. Inexpensive. Use the camping form on our website and send to JoAnn Lesser ASAP with your full payment made out to MVCC. She and Kurt normally head up there on Sunday. If your check won't get to San Jose by Saturday the 15th, call or email her to ask if you can show up and pay there.

The swap meet and MVs are throughout both sides of this venue. No seller fee, just rent a campsite. No admission fee either. If you have a WW2 jeep, military Dodge, or military motorcycle, scooter, or bicycle, show it off in one of those showcases Friday.
