Re: Xenon searchlight
There are several people that have them operating on 151's, I am not one of them. One thing I do know is that you have to have the 100 amp charging system on the mutt or the trailer towed genset to power the light.

Re: Xenon searchlight
Charging system is 180 amps. Not 100.
If not you need a big bank of batteries.
Saw one in operation years ago.
That A1s engine was screaming to keep that searchlight going.

Re: Xenon searchlight
My bad, I remember the charging system has a separate regulator on the passenger side that is water cooled. Finding all of that stuff is going to be tough.

Re: Xenon searchlight
Didn't the radio jeep have the 100A system?

Ya, I remember them(the m38a1), the radio used all the space behind the front seats/side to side, 15" antenna? If you touched the antenna while transmitting you would get a good shock/could kill you?We had DANGER/HIGH VOLTAGE painted on the canvas.Used the M38A1 jeep.

Re: Xenon searchlight
I currently own a 1966 M151 A1 that came with a Xenon Searchlight when it was purchased.
It remained in the vehicle for quite some time.
Eventually, I removed the light and all of the parts required to operate it.
I found that the light took up too much space in the rear of the MUTT and besides I did not use it very much.
The light was transported to Mr. Daryl Bensinger at D&L Bensinger in PA.
I was able to include ALL of the manuals and instructional material associated with the light.
So, you may want to contact him and we will probably be able to assist you.
Feel free to contact me and I can provide more info if you should so choose to do so.
Thanks,
Rangerboy

Re: Xenon searchlight
Yes, you are correct. I had originally intended to sell the system on the 151 but after talking with some of the guys have decided to keep it as is.
I do however have an extra light if anyone is interested. Looking at $1500 or BO. Located in Susquehanna, PA.
