They don't seem to be very desirable, I would say less than $400, have seen people give them away in the past, noise level goes way up with hard top. I have 2 that I've removed in the past.

I found one for sale recently. I was curious if it was even desirable. It’s in pretty good shape. Thank you for your response.

Not only does the noise level go up to the point of needing ear muffs but you have to drill many holes in the body. Good comparison of the noise? Put an old Briggs and Stratton lawnmower in an empty dumpster and close the dumpster door, then climb in and fire up the engine. That would be pretty close to driving down the road with a hard top on.

Sounds awful lol. I’ve had a hardtop for my cj5 and it wasn’t near that bad. I figured I’d grab it if someone on here might want it

I just located a 151 with the hard top, it came out of Alaska. The interior is lined with flexible black foam, sides, wheel wells, floors and ceiling. Doesn't run so I don't know how loud this one is.

That sounds like the arctic heating kit and I am sure that one will be quieter from all of the foam all over the vehicle.

I bought the m151 from Alaska, in process of removing the top. If anybody wants the top, its free just come and get it. I'm in Michigan. Also have the arctic heater. I need parts for this mutt so if you have something extra, chances are I need it. I think the foam insulation has to stay, its really on there good. Tuff stuff.

There is a member on the g838 who got two Alaska 151's and he removed all of that stuff. It apparently was an interesting job.

Use an Oscillating cutter. They are cheap at Harbor Freight or Amazon, just buy a wood cutting bit VS metal to not poke through sheet metal. (Wear Ear Muffs!!!) Buzz through the stuff with a powered scraper, use a propane torch with wide flame adapter (paint removal) should loosen the glue residue up for final scraping off with a steel brush.
