The 2223's still pop up on e-bay occasionally, there are 12 listed now for $125. The spark plug adapters may be the only real long term option now.

Re: Mule Tires and Tubes
I'm using a set that I bought off ebay that are just one number hotter than original and they are working out fine. I think Chuck may have been experimenting with something different a while back. I keep a running search going on ebay but there haven't even been any of the hotter ones show up for a long time. I just clean um up in the bead blaster and check the resistance and if it's in tolerance, I put them back in the parts cabinet.

I bought 50 of the 2224's back when they were still available, seem to work OK.

Re: Mule Tires and Tubes
Apologies as I know we've gone off topic.
I actually found two Autolite 2223 plugs at Rock Auto and ordered them. I found the discussion of the 2224s, and that looks like a good option, though it seems these have dried up on Ebay. Understand the 2226s are hotter, but okay for short trips. Read that people don't like the Champions, which is unfortunate, because Oreilly's has them (albeit for $14 each).
I'm on board with cleaning and reinstalling. Do that with aircraft plugs all the time. This is a much lower stress application, so I expect less electrode wear. I believe in taking good care of any engine, but this isn't exactly a precision or high risk application.

Re: Mule Tires and Tubes
Yup except on the mule it doesn't do any good to rotate um from even to odd cylinder since they both fire at the same time.
