DG IDLER GEAR QUESTION

Post by Guam0311 » Sun Feb 17, 2019 10:31 pm

I lost all my previous pictures from disassembly and the manual does not state which way the machined slots or broaching side faces during assembly in between the driven gear and the axle gear?If I remember right, they were facing inboard?

What is the correct installation. Is that machined end for oil distribution or something else?

I don't know if it really matters, but I always put it towards the outside.

Thanks Chuck for the help and reply. I managed to find one of the pictures on here that I previously posted and you are correct, grooves or slots are facing outside towards the tire side.
