After consulting TM 9-2320-246-20P Parts and special tools list, page 30 fig 18 item 13 the transmission transfer shift rod or linkage according to the illustration it looks pretty darn straight, however mine is bent like a wet noodle up towards the front of the MULE and was in a preloaded condition prior to removing the pins. Also the clevis rod threaded end is bent slightly.

I know I could bend it back but metal fatigue from the bends have already weakened the structure.

Does anyone have a NOS or more acceptable rod they would like to sale? Or where to purchase?

All three rods should be straight as an arrow. Looks like the support hanger froze up and somebody tried to force it, pretty common. Make sure all three hangers are free to move both top and bottom, and keep them lubed.

Have you checked with John Emery? I would repair the one you have by cutting out the bent section and sliding a new piece of tubing OVER the old tube and welding, but that's just me!

John Emery sells all three shifting rods that he is reproducing in his shop. Impossible to tell from the original.

Yea the hangars were pretty frozen so I saturated them with "KROIL". nice and loose now. I will polish the pins and remove all corrosion.
Going on vacation to San Diego for a week. My uncle has a Machine shop in Santee so I may try and save the rod like you said Chuck.

Good to know their are options to buy if need be. Thanks Charles.
