Gpw has two serial numbers

Top one : gpw 910 76
Bottom one: mb 10 41 79

I have never seen a gpw serial number like this so any help is appreciated.

Hello Hamster123,


The first one is the original Ford GPW factory number.
I am guessing that the MB number would be for an engine serial number that was added later.
Check to see if you have an MB serial numbered engine.
The serial number should be on an oval pad, hidden behind your oil filter mounting bracket.

That would be my guess as to what you have there.

Also, post war in the USA, many titles required the engine serial number only, on the titles to identify the vehicles, until the mid 1950's or so.

The engine in my gpw is out of a Chevy Vega i don’t have a clue what happened to the original motor. Anyway thanks for the reply .
