Mississippi WWII veteran flown back for burial

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - 698 Mississippians remain unaccounted for from World War II, but one of those heroes is making his return to the Magnolia State in December.

Navy Aviation Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class Durell Wade died on the USS Oklahoma during Pearl Harbor. The defense POW and MIA accounting agency announce they’ve successfully identified Wade and will be transporting his remains to the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetary on December 7.
