GEE, THAT'S A NICE LOOKING EXHAUST MANIFOLD

Post by Joe Gopan » Fri Aug 10, 2018 2:48 pm

Nothing looks worse than that NOS exhaust Manifold you just installed when it gets all rusty after a short time.
I have always painted them with a spray coat of cheap OD from an aerosol can. The exhaust manifold will soon turn to a permanent and pleasant red oxide like color that keeps it from rusting

I do it on all of my MV exhaust manifolds, and also give my MB Mufflers a coat of Hi Temp Silver enamel. Nothing looks worse than a rusty colored expensive MB/GPW muffler.

Good call. I painted mine with cast iron colored high temp before painting GPW grey.

Thanks for that info. Ben, I'll be trying it this weekend.

It's worth a try, The NOS manifolds on my MV's are all 30-40+ years old and the y have not yet turned rusty.

I had the exhaust manifold on my 3B coated with a high-temp ceramic coating. Not only does it look good (forever), but helps reduce heat in the engine compartment.
