Rick Larsen MIA?

Post by Motown GPW » Wed Feb 01, 2017 7:40 pm

Got stencils from Rick last year for my GPW, first class stuff. I placed an order over the weekend and got a response, then nothing. Tonight his web site says "Store is Closed".

I hope he is ok, anyone know what's happening?

Guys,
I'm sorry, but my wife has been hospitalized for over 3 weeks after a serious operation.
I am trying to process ALL orders that I have in house and hope to get most out early next week.
The easiest way to contact me is via email as I have not been at home for phone calls.
The store being opened or closed will be an ongoing process for the next 6 months during treatment.
Please anticipate your needs and the lead time for them.
Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick and sorry,

Now I feel like an ass. Don't worry about my order, I can't drive the thing now anyway. Winter in Michigan sucks.

Maybe by this getting out to members people will back off and give you time to take care of personal things.

All our hope and prayers to you and your wife.

He's done, and I am wondering if there's anyone else out there making good hood and bumper markings anymore?

Been trying to get my wife to make me stencils. She does some, but since RL is out of business I've been getting most of my stencils here the past few years. Always good to work with these folks. The stencils are fantastic, and they get them to me fast even thought they're in the UK:

Looks like a UK version of Rick Larsen. I'd be fine with working with them as I've decided to re-do my hood markings to match Bill Mauldin's famed "5th Army issued Jeep" as well as doing bumper markings for the unit that ferried war correspondents around France.

I think you'll be happy with them. They send a proof first for approval via e-mail which makes it nice to verify what one has ordered.

Scott Watson who retired from Ron Fitzpatrick Jeep Parts after nearly 15 years is making stencils. He does a good job also.

Give him a go.

Larry Stier is also making stencils. Just received a 1/2 Wwii ambulance set. Nicely done! Larry is also a good guy. His firm is alltrade engraving in Prior Lake, Mn.

Guys, I’m back! It’s been tough a 2 years with my wife passing away and
my having a massive stroke which took 9 months to recover from. I’m
now back up and running producing work, although somewhat slower
than before. The website is now up and it is offering a 10% discount
on all items.
Keep’em rolling,
Rick Larsen

Rick, I'm so sorry to hear about things for you over these past couple of years.
I still want to get those bumper and hood markings done, will be ordering from you eventually. I'm glad a I procrastinated.

Great to hear you're back at it after what must have been a rough time. Ordered a lot from you in the past. Always been my favorite site.

Wishing you the best!
