It’s been a long time since my last post in 2016. A lot has happened. I have the family farm now and I raise cows. I haven’t done much work on the Jeep until recently within the past 2 months. I installed the seats and few under seat storage boxes. I Got the rear tool boxes in. almost done welding in the floors. Lots of booger welds but it still works. I can’t wait to finish the Jeep and use it on the farm. I even have a different Ford truck to pull the jeep around with. I also just learned of Imgur to post my photos, so im guessing im back!

Where'd you get that rear tool box between the wheelhouses. I've always thought they were cool.

I had to fab some angle iron brackets to attach it to. It’s made for the Willy’s MB, I got it here;

Thanks, that’s not a bad price either. Your Jeep tub is coming out great

Did a little searching and found this old post from Chuck Lutz;

"Re: Trailer Socket Positioning
Unread post by Chuck Lutz » Wed Jul 24, 2019 11:42 am

Ditto on socket being mounted with flange on the INSIDE of the tool box and gasket & ring on the outside with the cover. In the diagram the bolts are ridiculously to LONG, check the SNL and you will find the correct lengths for them. Don't forget to mount the GROUND wire from the socket to one of the four bolts before installing the nuts/washers and to scuff up where it will be to give a good GROUND path for the trailer socket-to-trailer tub wire."

I talked to Robert over at Dataplates4u, he is custom designing a hood star and number set for me copied after one of the hoods found in Germany used to repair a roof after the war. Here is the article https://jalopnik.com/germans-discover-m ... 1831021112

Here is a video of the German city of Bonn after the war.

Received the brass pedestal mount data tag in the mail today. All I can say is WOW! It has the raised lettering just like the originals.

Stimsonite No.12 inserts have a vertical separation when viewed. Remember that you need to orientate that vertical separation when mounting them into your bezels accordingly....in other words, check how the bolt holes are aligned and how the bezels will be orientated and then install them so the vertical separation is the same on all four.

What that means is....the two bezels on the rear are angled differently from the 12 o'clock/6 o'clock hole arrangement on the sides of the tub. When all four are installed, you should see the same vertical separation and the "STIMSONITE" at the top and "No.12" at the bottom of the bezel.
