Mark....Ivan gave Aaron and you and the family a gift that can never really be repaid. The fact that you honor him so often in your thoughts is a tribute to his service to our country and to a fellow Marine. There will always be a debt of gratitude that can't be paid any other way than to keep his memory alive.

As the Aussies say, "Good on ya, mate!"

You are remembered Ivan! :(

Ivan's momma, Denise, sent Aaron's one month old daughter a blanket.

9 years now.

No one is fully gone until no one remembers !
Remembering Ivan is an honor to you and him and shows the respect you had for him.
For that, you have my respect.
If what you had for breakfast was any thing like what I had, it ain't worth remembering.
Never forget Ivan and those that have fallen with him.

My sister lost a young adult son in a tragic event. I can tell you that the gift she cherishes beyond all others is having her son remembered. That gift you give freely.

Mark, my friend,

Thank you for posting this every year. Although we are well aware of the significance and meaning of the holiday, your remembrance of Ivan each year gives me pause to reflect. I will say that the annual re-reading of Ivan's story and the interaction between your families doesn't get any easier on these aging eyes (maybe it's the pollen in the air). Thanks for remembering and thanks for the annual reminder.

Remembering Ivan as I know others are. :)

Aaron and I were talking about taking a trip down to see him next year... pay our respects in person, so to speak.
