Thanks Ray I will take some more pics Sunday when I get home.
I do plan on replacing the fuel tub since it had quite a few pinholes in it and the stone guard flashing is pretty well gone. I just patched it and painted it for now.

I did take the bumper off and it does have the F script on the backside.
The owner also gave me a bunch of literature with the book of the 3 service manuals and lots of copies of the Military Vehicle magazine from the 70’s & 80’s. Very neat stuff.
Hello,

That is great, we will be looking forward to seeing more pictures,
it is very nice to have all those items come with the jeep and trailer !

Best Regards,
Ray

Here are some pics of other parts. Curious on why the body # 231790 is so much earlier than the frame 268896 There is no stamping on the radiator that I can see but it is old. The reflector pictures are from the right rear and all 4 are the same.

Hello Don,

What a treasure you have found here !!!
Your wife should think you are a genius finding this jeep :D :D :D

It is in a very select group of all original jeeps !

The body number is perfect, as Ford is using an ACM type 2 body now just like Willys,
built for both companies by American Central Manufacturing ( ACM) .

That serial number on the body is an ACM number, not a Ford number, but it matches your GPW production date perfectly.

The top bow straps under the seat look like they are original with that C tab on the strap.

The door straps look all original and in perfect condition !
The reflectors I will study more, but they look the correct style, but may be later, but then again I don't have any 45 GPW to check.
I think the FSN number started in 1949.
Hopefully others will know !

The Seelite headlights are original, and those Goodyear tires are made in USA, so they are vintage and look great.

The seat springs are original as well :D

What a beautiful jeep you have, I am so impressed by its condition !

Best Regards,
Ray

Does anyone know what the 2 screws are for on the drivers side underneath where the shovel handle would be? When taking all of the others things off I noticed the top screw was sieved up and I assumed the previous owner couldn’t get it off so he left it as is.

Not sure which screws you're talking about. Can you circle them in the picture? Page 219/220 has a picture of how to tie the axe and shovel down. maybe that would explain it; http://jeepdraw.com/images/jeepdraw/ADO ... 3_1944.pdf

The 2 screws in line vertically behind the strap to the left of the bracket. I was thinking they are there to give you the ability to move the bracket to adjust the strap.

Yes, that is why they're there.

Generally the doorway eyebolts are horizontally positioned on GPWs. Yours is turned vertically like an MB.

Happy Friday all!
I found a few goodies in a box of parts with my GPW.
Does anyone know if the pic of the first aid kit is the original?
What is the generator?
Is the gun cleaning kit period correct?

The 24 volt voltage regulator is for the later post-war 24 volt M-series trucks. The Outers rifle cleaning kit is cool! Made here in Wisconsin, I have some more modern kits of theirs from the '70's. I don't know what vintage that one is from. Do you have the bracket behind your dashboard for the first aid kit? I don't know the exact vintage of that one but it's certainly the type of box that gets mounted in the bracket. That one is a gas-casualties kit, not the standard frist aid kit. I think I see the bracket; download/file.php?id=213112&t=1

Hello all and Happy Friday!
I found a couple more parts in some boxes with the GP. Does anyone know if the fuel gage is original equipment and if these reflectors are correct for a 45?

Update, just buttoned up the fuel system.
New tank
New lines
New filter
New pump
I put a gallon of gas and primed the hell out of the pump. Cranked over but would not fire. Starts fine with starter fluid.
Checked the input line to the filter and no fuel.
How long does it take to get fuel up to the filter?I must have pumped the primer several hundred times and cranked the engine several dozen times. When I move the primer handle I can here suction and feel pressure.
