SURE MISS SARAFANS-AND YOU WOULD TOO

Post by Joe Gopan » Fri Aug 02, 2019 5:25 am

You name it-they had it. It was quite a sight at the MV shows to see Michael and his crew arrive with an assortment of NOS W.O.F . Body Tubs for $1400 each and maybe a nice or like new MBT or Mitsubishi 1/4 Ton Trailer or two.

I visited Sarfans once in the late 80's. I spent well over a $1000 on parts for my Jeep and had them ship them to me in Arizona. I'd ridden up to NY on a motorcycle and couldn't take them with me. If I recall correcting sales tax would have been more then the shipping cost. They'd just got a shipment in from Greece and had more WWII Jeeps and trailers then I'd ever seen in one place.

I miss those French GI reconditioned T-84's that they used to sell, once in a while a customer would get a good one that actually worked.

Living in the past 40 years ago gets you nowhere. It's 2021 no matter how much you want it to be 1960.

Living in the past with our MV's is what this hobby is all about.
History comes alive every time I open the barn door and visit my MV.s, the memories are fond and my youth returns, What happened to you?
