Howitzer firing a blank
Firing blanks are not nearly as satisfying as shooting live rounds and making 3" hole in car doors downrange and having the gun recoil. That being said, I'll probably never have the opportunity it fire the howitzer at any other attitude than very close to horizontal with live rounds. Used 8 oz of black powder for this blank.

Here's the gun firing a live round at just before it fires and at the maximum recoil. These images were taken off the video of the gun firing.
