M149 repurposed

Post by tazmo2004 » Mon Feb 02, 2015 5:51 pm

Old water buffaloes never die. Who knows what treasures DRMO holds. Found an IED disabled M149 in DRMO and had my guys make it into a large BBQ. I actually asked permission and was told we could build a grill if it was big enough to cook for every one at one time. My boss laughed until we showed up with this.

The tag on the buf said that poison gas was made by polyisowhatever above a certain temp so we took care to make sure we burned it off.

We loaned this out to what ever unit wanted to have a field day for the troops.
One day a SSGT showed up asking about it, when we asked him where he heard about he said Ft. Bliss. Evidently the Batt, Commander had sent word back to the States and it was spreading. I left Al Asad in April 2006 and when I got back in July 2009 we (GSE in DS) still had it and was on the same loan program. Finally had to take it to DRMO around June 2010 because management had issues with all out off the books equipment. Wasn't there long till one of the SEAL Teams (as I was told) took it out and put it back in service.

That is...awesome!

And I mean both the actual product and the usage. Good Job.
