Valve guides

Post by PVT MacGyver » Sun Jul 24, 2022 8:48 am

I’m doing some top end work on my 67 A1 because one of my intake valves was sticking. I’ve got her stripped down. My only question is, what is the tolerance for the valve guides? They’ve got some play, I just don’t know how much I can get away with. I was planning to have a machine shop sleeve the guides if the need arose.
Thanks.

Never looked it up but the specs will be in the -34 manual. If the valve was sticking I would guess the clearance is tight enough. The sticking is usually old gas and varnish.

Awesome, thanks. Do you have a link to the manual? Everywhere I’ve found wants me to pay to download it.
