When you spin the tire in the air is the brake dragging at all? Is it dragging just at one spot? If it is dragging all the time and you cannot adjust the brakes far enough out you could have the wrong hardware, wrong shoes (Bonded instead of riveted) they use different hardware. Or the drum could be undersize. You will need a drum caliper to measure the inside diameter of the drum and compare it to the others. I have a LOT of drums I came across when cleaning out my storage. I have not had time to measure them yet but none appear to have been cut. Also the drum could have worn in a taper from a bad hold down spring on a shoe. Look very closely at the wear pattern on the shoe to see if it is now wearing on just inner side of the shoe. This is assuming this hardware is not what has the bad hold down spring, that will also cause the heat issue.
